| The Amguid Impact Crater |

Day 1: We meet in a hotel near Paris CDG airport for a welcome dinner - and a last glass of wine.
Day 2 and 3: Although the flight schedule is not confirmed yet, we may have to get up early as normally the plane will take off at 6:00am, arriveing at Tamanrasset in the afternoon. Immediately we depart for the north along the trans-Sahara highway and set up our first bivouac in the desert. The following day we will leave tarmac and head towards the Iffetesenner massif to rendezvous with our caravan. Estimated distance 350km.
Day 4 to 11: Our little caravan sets off into the ‘lost tassili’. For 8 to 9 days we will explore the Immidir's stunning scenery, with no two days alike. From the base of the Iffetesenner plateau we will follow dry river beds (oueds), wind through shaded gorges, climb over windblown passes, all the time taking the time to explore whatever takes our interest. One the 7th day the crater will suddenly emerge from the stony plateau as a stunning climax to our efforts. Estimated distance 140km.
Day 12 and 13: We will spend the last days relaxing or strolling around close to the beautifull dunes of Erg Bou Zrafa and Teganet where we may well see gazelles.
Day 14 and 15: Our drivers will be waiting with a fresh brew, ready to drive us back south to Tam were we arrive on Day 14 with enough spare time to unwind and explore the town. Estimated distance 650 km.
Day 16: Morning departure of our plane to Paris CDG.
Please note: because conditions and circumstances can change fast in the desert, the above itinerary and schedule are provisional. The departure times from Paris are often only anounced a week before take off.
